Program in Medieval Studies

Chuyu’s research interests lie in examining the transcultural and intermediary material culture of medieval China, with a focus on the Jurchen-ruled Jin dynasty (1115-1234). Before coming to Brown, Chuyu obtained an M.A. in History of Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts at NYU and an M.F.A. in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University.
