Biography

Dillon Brian-Thomas Webster is a Ph.D. candidate working on the political symbiosis in the medieval Mediterranean, particularly Eastern Iberia, and Mediterranean Africa. His current project explores the fanādiq/ alfudacos of Eastern Iberia, the Balearic Islands, and Ifriqiya and their role in mediating contact across Mediterranean divides, as well as the centrality of this built environment to the political formation of both the Crown of Aragon and the Hafsids. He holds a B.A. in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz, an M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, and an M.A. in History from the University of Colorado Boulder.
